it was as though i was watching a movie, except not. i could see everything happening, but i wasn't in the dream. not this part anyway. there was a family in this dream, a wife, husband, 2 young kids (maybe 10 years old or so) and it was nighttime. they had a really creepy basement in their house. sarah mclachlan was the mom (odd, yes?) and she was the only one home. she was a business woman, had just gotten home from work and/or was going out to do some more work. she was arguing with her husband on her cell phone as she walked around aimlessly in the backyard. they had a high wooden fence. she was angry, and starting to pace backwards for some reason. she walked right into the serial killer. he wrapped an arm around her chest, she dropped her cell phone, and he slowly led her into the basement. she was panicked but thought that maybe if she cooperated, he'd let her go. so she was saying, "yes, okay...let's go into the basement." but he didn't want to rape her...he wanted to kill her. she didn't find that out until it was too late. and since she hadn't made much noise at all and he, in his black clothing, blended into the night, the neighbors didn't know anything was happening. everything fades to black.
