This dream had a lot of different parts that I can't remember so well - originally I was at some sort of swimming pool party where I was feeling quite unsettled because of the danger. There was some unknown danger that we had to go to another dimension to fight - there was a portal down in this ravine, and we had to climb down to get to it. Anything that ventured too close to the portal would be killed by things that occasionally came out of it. We would occasionally go down there and save animals from it, but at the moment we were having a pool party and we were not worried.



Later, I was at home alone in a version of my parents' house that wasn't quite the same. I was packing for some trip, some sort of missionary-type thing where I'd go to another country and help build houses or something. Before I went, I answered this ad for a monkey. I had to go rescue it from inside the other dimension but once I did so it was free. So I went and rescued the monkey (it was a big monkey, about the size of a small child) and carried it home, where I proceeded to hide it from my mother. I called the group that was organizing the trip and asked them if it was okay for me to bring a monkey. "It's a work-monkey" I assured them, and it would be beneficial to our cause. They told me that it should be okay, and I asked around about how to train it and what I should feed it.



The monkey proved to be less trouble than I'd imagined. At some point it acquired a small baby-sized sweater that said "I heart
