In this dream I was living in a small log-cabin house in the woods (the woods again...why do so many of my dreams take place in the woods? Does that mean anything?) with two other women, both of whom I was romantically involved with. While I was at work (my regular job at the hospital...geez, ya can't get away from work even when you're sleeping!)
I got a phone call from one of them while I was at work that our house had caught fire but hadn't burned down because the fire department had arrived quickly.
When I got there I felt devastated, our living room was blackened and smelled like smoke and mildew. The wood was wet and cold to the touch.
I was home alone the next day, sorting through soggy photo albums trying to see what I could salvage when I heard somebody in the kitchen.
I walked in and there was a huge grizzly bear that had wandered in through the front door. I was terrified and I tried to back out slowly so it wouldn't notice me but it saw me and charged. You definitely can dream that you're in pain because as I was running it raked it's claws down my back and it hurt like hell.
I ran into the bedroom and closed the door, then pushed a dresser against the door. The bear was pounding and scratching against the door and I was trying to hide under clothes in the closet.* I knew that it was eventually going to get in and find me.
